Cubs vs White Sox Preview

Tonight the Cubs and White Sox begin their first Crosstown series of 2009, this one being played at Wrigley. The Cubs are at .500 and the White Sox come in at 30-34, both teams are currently in 3rd place in their respective divisions. The Sox come in having just won 2 of 3 games in Milwaukee this past weekend. The Cubs come in having just lost 2 of 3 to the Twins. Both teams are not very good, I really do not know what to expect in this series.

Tonight's match-up is Carlos Zambrano (4-2, 3.39 ERA) vs. John Danks (4-5, 4.81 ERA). Zambrano has been pitching VERY well lately, his last time out, he was as good as I have ever seen him. I look for Z to stay hot and have another good outing tonight, the Cubs need him to pitch well. Danks is a good pitcher, who the Cubs have not seen a lot of, but I believe he beat us last year. Danks is 4-5, but the Sox do not always score runs, similar to the Cubs. His 4.81 ERA is more a product of the AL. Anywho, I think tonight's game will be a low scoring affair, but my pick is that the Cubs take game one. The stadium should be electric for a rare night game in the Crosstown series.
