Derrick Rose named NBA's Rookie of the Year

Congrats to Bulls Rookie Guard, Derrick Rose, who was named the NBA's ROY this afternoon. Rose becomes just the third Chicago Bull to win the award, joining Michael Jordan and Elton Brand. I will admit I was against drafting Rose last summer and preferred Forward Michael Beasley, because he was more of a scorer, and allegedly a big-guy. Boy was I wrong! Since joining the Bulls Rose has been a solid contributor and consistently shows flashes of greatness. Myself and Chicago should expect great things from Derrick Rose as he develops and grows into a superstar. As a rookie, he started at point guard for a playoff team and had as good of a game as any rookie ever (in the playoffs) in Game 1 against the Celtics.

Hopefully the Bulls hang onto this ROY. Last time we had one (Brand) our G.M. traded him to the LA Clippers for the draft rights to Tyson Chandler.
